The Opening
Dancers from three counties flocked to the opening of The Studio, a new purpose built dance and fitness facility at Flint Cross, near Royston, on Saturday 30th October 2010. The new venue offers a range of fitness classes during the day, with dance classes held after school, at evenings and weekends. Dance styles taught include Street & Commercial Jazz, Ballroom, Latin, Classical Sequence, Salsa, Rock 'n' Roll, Zumba, Aerobics and Body Conditioning.
The bright and airy dance space boasts a 12x7.2 metre sprung maple wood floor, with two full length mirrored walls to help dancers perfect their technique, and the softly furnished waiting area means mums can take a break and relax with a cup of tea and a magazine while their children dance.
Then opening day ran from 11.00am until 4.00pm, with approximately 120 visitors staying a while to look around, enjoying cakes and canapés as well as a chance to order new Studio merchandise and dance wear. Raffle tickets were on sale and a balloon race was held, raising £100.00 in aid of breast cancer research. The whole day set the tone for The Studio as friendly, lively venue at the heart of the community.

Testimonials
Dance and Cheerleading Clubs at Meldreth Primary School are proving to be very popular with both boys and girls; the sessions are lively and well-attended and a testament to the hard work and enthusiasm of Claire. A variety of different styles of dance are taught appealing to all children. Even better - the classes are a great way to wake up in the mornings and actively promote our healthy lifestyle ethos.
- Mrs J. Dickson Headteacher Meldreth Primary School
Claire teaches children and adults ranging from 3 to 83! She approaches all lessons with professionalism and manages to make the lessons relaxed and fun for everyone whether they want to dance socially or to compete at regional or national level. Claire's love for all dance genres is obvious and infectious, and I can think of no other person more committed to her sport, and of course her pupils.
- Glenda Spry, parent of pupil attending The Studio
Claire's training sessions are well planned and great fun. The children are highly motivated and show strong technical skills, as well as a genuine love for Dance Sport. Claire also trains adults, and approaches these classes with tact and humour, coaxing winning performances! Claire uses her experience to inspire her students and has brought out great potential in both of my daughters (who have both won championship titles thanks to her coaching) and trained the adults in our family to a high standard. She handles all administrative matters herself, and deals with both children and their parents extremely professionally.
- Melanie Davies, Teacher at St Felix Middle school, parent and pupil of The Studio
Claire is seen as a role model by her students who respond to her enthusiasm. She can relate to the students by making sessions fun but she also commands their respect. Many of the students she coaches to the highest standard have found a sport in which they can compete for many years to come. Claire is always available to offer encouragement, advice and suppport.
